Job Family: Systems Engineering Consulting Travel Required: Up to 50% Clearance Required: Ability to Obtain NACI What You Will Do: The VA Account Technology Solutions Architect will serve as the senior technical leader supporting our VA-focused programs and pursuits. This role is critical in shaping and delivering technology strategies that align with VA’s mission. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience with VA technologies and data, strong relationships with VA technology stakeholders, and a proven track record of delivering trusted, impactful solutions. Lead the technical solutioning for VA account pursuits, including RFP responses, solution architecture, and client stakeholder engagement. Design and articulate end-to-end technology solutions that support VA enterprise goals, aligned with VHA, VBA, and OIT strategies. Collaborate across the Guidehouse enterprise to integrate multidisciplinary expertise, capabilities and innovations, bringing the full strength of the firm to solve complex client challenges and sell new projects. Align proposed solutions with VA’s evolving technology strategy and procurements, including legacy system modernization and adoption of cloud, platforms, and emerging AI and data technologies. Ensure alignment with VA’s enterprise architecture standards, VA Digital Transformation Strategy, and federal IT modernization goals. Coordinate cross-functional teams to develop solution components, cost estimates, and implementation plans. Support mobilizing delivery teams post-award, ensuring continuity and clarity of vision and, where applicable, deliver technology projects at the VA with high client satisfaction Guide technical teams in the integration of GOTS, COTS, LC/NC, and custom-developed software solutions that achieve VA’s system quality goals, e.g., scalability, availability, reliability, data integrity/quality, and interoperability. Ability to identify and develop niche partners to align with business/account strategy, and technical roadmap/strategy for specific opportunities. Support workshops and working sessions with VA stakeholders to refine requirements and validate solution approaches. Maintain awareness of VA enterprise systems, including those within the OCIO and OCTO organizations, and leverage this knowledge to inform solution design. What You Will Need: 15+ years of relevant professional experience. 10+ years of experience in technology solution design and architecture, with at least 5 years supporting VA in a solution architect role. Strong relationships with VA program-level technology stakeholders and a reputation for trusted delivery. Experience designing and implementing large-scale enterprise systems for the Department of Veterans Affairs (e.g., financial, supply chain, HR, grants, health, or benefits platforms). Demonstrated experience with VA data flows between federal and state/local public health entities. Strong understanding of AWS/Azure cloud platforms, enterprise integration patterns, DevSecOps, data interoperability, and security frameworks. Proven ability to lead technical solutioning in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Assisting in ROM/LOE estimation, pricing, and proposal-to-win (p2w) activities. Coordinating with Guidehouse technology SMEs to align solutions with best practices. Playing a key role in shaping new business opportunities and deals. Excellent communication and executive presentation skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk mitigation capabilities. Experience working with geographically distributed teams. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field. Based in or near Washington, DC. for on-site engagement with VA stakeholders. What Would Be Nice To Have: Experience working within VA OCTO. Prior experience in technology consulting role. Familiarity with federal health IT standards and compliance requirements. Technology certifications in architecture (e.g., AWS/Azure Architect, TOGAF). The annual salary range for this position is $226,000.00-$376,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
