Selby Jennings is partnered with a top alternative investment firm that is looking to bring on a Senior Fund Accountant to play a critical role in the oversight of daily and monthly accounting processes for assigned funds. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain executive exposure at a highly reputable firm & complex fund accounting concepts.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily and monthly accounting processes for assigned funds, including reconciliations, journal entries, and valuation updates.
• Review and analyze fund performance, allocations, and NAV calculations prepared by third-party administrators.
• Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and fund-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders during audit and tax cycles.
• Support capital activity processing, including capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.
• Collaborate with the investment team to understand deal structures and ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Participate in system enhancements, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 4-6 years of relevant experience, ideally in fund accounting, public accounting (Big 4 or similar), or asset management.
• Strong understanding of investment fund structures, private equity or credit products, and US GAAP.
• Experience with fund administrators and accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
